What the heck – Mt Tamborine, Mount Tamborine, Tamborine Mountain – where am I?

Sorry for the confusion but Tamborine Mountain often gets called by different naming conventions. It can be known by just Tamborine Mountain or by Mt Tamborine, or Mount Tamborine, or even Tambourine Mountain (spot the ‘u’?).

To confuse the naming issue some more, Tamborine Mountain is made up of 3 villages – Eagle Heights (postcode 4271), Mount Tamborine (4272) and North Tamborine (4272).

What to wear?

What clothing should I pack and bring whilst visiting Mount Tamborine?

Whilst it can get warm in the daytime during the summer months of December, January & February on Tamborine Mountain, the evenings are often cool, so it is always wise to bring along a nice warm jumper and a coat just to be sure, so that you can be nice and cosy while out walking or sitting and watching one of the spectacular sunsets that Tamborine Mountain is renowned for.

Of course during the winter months of June, July & August, cooler ‘mountain weather’ dictates that you bring warm clothing.

If you plan to do any walking in the Tamborine Mountain rainforest please remember to bring along good sturdy, comfortable shoes. And don’t forget that hat and suncream – always be prepared for a hot day and be aware of the effect that the sun can have on your skin.
