“Our aim is to give you our valued guests, a European atmosphere (A little piece of Germany in a Tropical Setting). We want you to experience the beauty and splendour of Tamborine Mountain without having to miss any of the luxuries you have at home (as far as we possibly can!). All of our guests, no matter why they come to Tamborine Mountain, are very important to us. In our own experience the most that you remember about a place that you have stayed at are the bed, the breakfast and the friendliness of your hosts.

In addition we wanted to make the place more interesting for you. That’s why Marion does a lot of decoration including her own paintings, drawings and cross-stitches. And not to forget our permanent Christmas bazaar, with all the genuine German decorations made mainly from wood (see Gallery Images).

We believe that we have successfully achieved all of this, but of course everybody has a different taste! One main point that a lot of our guests mention is how spotlessly clean everything is. To us that‘s normal, but apparently it is not?”

The Essence

Tamborine Mountain – your backyard

Your Muscatels at Tamborine B&B is located on beautiful and serene Tamborine Mountain.

Set in elevated rainforest, Muscatels at Tamborine is situated on the Eastern cliff edge of Tamborine Mountain (sometimes called Mount Tamborine, Mt Tamborine or Tambourine Mountain), in the village of Eagle Heights, with commanding views over the Gold Coast skyline to the blue waters of the Pacific Ocean, only a 35 minute leisurely drive from the Gold Coast and its beaches, 1 hour from the Brisbane CBD and only 20 minutes from Dream World and Warner Bros’ Movie World.

The integration of international cultures and love of the Mountain make Tamborine Mountain a truly unique tourist destination. Tamborine Mountain plays host to some of the most beautiful scenery in the Gold Coast Hinterland.

Muscatels is ideally placed for short and easy access to shops, rainforest walks and boutique wineries and a short leisurely stroll will bring you to Gallery Walk, the artistic heart of Tamborine Mountain justly famed for its coffee shops, restaurants, craft shops and galleries. This quaint ‘village area’ has its own eclectic atmosphere.

Walking Tracks Tamborine Mountain

Just 100 metres away is the entrance to Palm Grove National Park, lush rainforest and abundant walks and waterfall, your very own pristine rainforest area.

Walking tracks are provided in six sections of Tamborine Mountain National Park. Most walking tracks are short and can be walked within a few hours. The walks are relatively easy although some tracks have short, steep grades. You may view, print or download a detailed map of the six main walking tracks in the Tamborine Mountain National Park.
